In Meridian Secondary, we design NE learning experiences to strengthen our students’ citizenship dispositions and to inspire the school community to work together and actively contribute for our nation.

Highlights

Total Defence Day 2022

We started the commemoration by viewing the Total Defence Message Video and a quiz on ‘My Total Defence’ type.

Our Uniformed Group cadets led the their peers in the different activities such as facilitating the Guardians of the City II card games, Kahoot quiz and the discussion of the case scenarios. Each Upper Sec class was tasked to write a Digital Defence class pledge which they have put up on their class noticeboard.

International Friendship Day 2022

With the theme, Singapore In The World, International Friendship Day (IFD) commemoration activities help our students realise the importance of forging good international relations with others. The day started off with our Principal Mr Razali’s sharing on the situation in Ukraine and its impact on Singapore. Thereafter, Sec 1, 2, 4 and 5 students continued the engaging discussions during CCE periods while the Sec 3 students attended the sharing sessions by our International Students which were planned together by the CCE Team and the Internationalisation Team.

Sec 3 NRIC Presentation Ceremony

The objective of the NRIC presentation ceremony is to provide Meridians with a memorable citizenship experience**.** Through this experience, students learnt the value of the NRIC and reflected on what it means to be Singaporeans.

Racial Harmony Day

Students reflected on their experiences and engaged in meaningful activities to learn more about the different races and cultures, as well as to study how they can play a part in strengthening trust and friendships among the communities, in order to emerge stronger as a more caring, cohesive and resilient nation.

This year’s celebration was carried out differently, students and teachers still came together to enjoy class-based activities and live-streamed Observance Ceremony.
